Mr. J
In 1996, Mr.J got started with his music career after discovering his hidden talent of singing, lying dormant in him. Music was always an interest of Mr. J but not to the point of becoming a music artist. After discovering his musical talent, Mr. J began singing more often at church functions, local events and holding practice sessions with fellow music artist Golden Fox. He purchased his first multitrack recording software (Acid 1.0) and was blown away from actually hearing his voice on record. Mr. J made his international debut in Canada in 2003 at a pre festival concert dubbed “Son Splash”. In 2004, He recorded his first professional single, titled, I Come Fi Tell, with a local record label called Dunamus Soundz.
Mr. J returned to Canada in 2008 and recorded a single called, Money We Want with fellow artist DJ Evangelist. In January of 2009, Mr. J and DJ Evangelist recorded the music video for the single Money We Want, which received favorable airplay around the Caribbean. Following his video shoot, Mr.J travelled to Guyana in April of 2009 to perform at an event called The Real Easter Jam. While in Guyana, Mr. J collaborated with a few music artistes and recorded a compilation song and video titled Last Days, produced at Brutal Tracks Guyana. Born in Nassau Bahamas, April 26th 1974 to Haitian migrants, Gesner grew up as a humble, hard working and ambitious young man. From an early age Mr. J was taught the value of hard work and honesty which he applied very early in his life.
After graduating from high school, Mr. J enrolled in a local vocational institute where he graduated with the basic fundamentals of electronics. He then began his career as an electronics repair technician.
