While spending the summer with cousins in Daytona Beach FL,7 year old Ivan saw The Jackson 5 for the first time and it changed his life for ever. Since that day Ivan has competed in talent shows, formed singing groups and practiced everyday to perfect his gift of song and dance. Ivan's early influences was Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, Jeffrey Osborn and Lionel Richie.

 

At age 19 Ivan was the lead singer of a local R&B band. The band was comprised of students that attended the local community college. News of the band reached the attention of the vice president of A&M Records who was the niece of the mayor of that town. Before the vice president could get to Florida Ivan heard the call of the Lord and answered. Since that day Ivan has been singing, recording and performing gospel music. Ivan believes he's been called to reap the end time harvest of soul He has led hundreds young and old to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

 

At age 24 he married a beautiful and talented woman of God by the name of Wilma Chaney. Together they have ministered to multitudes through the gift of music and song.

They have also been a very effective witnessing team. They've worked with the youth and sang on praise teams for quite a few years. For years Ivan worked as a counselor on his job. He taught father nurturing classes at a corrections facility in Orlando.

 

Ivan was offered 3 recording contracts with small indie labels and no albums ever happened. But Ivan's passion and dream for music compelled him to push forward and to never give up. A friend of his told him about Tate Music Group and as they say the rest is history.
