EPIPHANY

In 2001 while pursuing a secular career Tanya was faced with tragedy when her close friend and producer was shot and killed on the same day as 9/11. The event served as a wakeup call and Tanya put music down for seven years after that. After much prayer , Tanya returned to music in 2008 reclaiming the name Epiphany when she felt led by the Lord to pursue Christian Rap. She says, “The name Epiphany is a constant reminder to me of my Spiritual Awakening, transformation and call to help others awake spiritually.”

Epiphany’s Music is laced with a fire and passion for Christ and the lost. In 2010 she released a single called “Go On” which had a great response and reached #8 on the Reverbnation Philadelphia Charts. Epiphany pulled listeners in with the heart felt “Go On” a song about rape, promiscuity, teen pregnancy and how young girls can survive get up and “Go On”. Now in 2014, recently at #2 on the Charts, a move to Florida and the release of such singles as “The Good & Da Gangsta” a street anthem about what happens when street gangsta’s are hit with the good news of the Gospel and “Not Ready for War” a song urging listeners to get ready for Christ’s return Epiphany is proving to her critics that not only can she stand the test of time but that she brings a raw realness, wisdom, & lyrical skill to the Christian Rap scene of the likes which haven’t been seen before. Today Epiphany can be found getting ready to release her EP Album “The Awakening” a long anticipated project and performing at various events . Stay connected for more. God bless.

Female MC, Epiphany born LaTanya Richardson started out as Toni Stone in the secular arena in 1995. A young girl then, Industry officials compared her flow to a cross between Foxy Brown & Bahamadia. As Toni Stone, she had some success via the internet with a cd entitled Ms. Stone. She's preformed alongside acts such as the Roots, Kindred Soul, Mos Def, Common & more.

In 1997 Tanya had an experience that would forever change her life and career. She called it an "Epiphany" hence her name change. She gave her heart & life to her now Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. From then on she decided to obey the Lord and no longer be a perpetrator of sin & death thru her music. However, the pull of secular rap was strong & she returned to pursing it a few years later.
